Brother Bruce French 32°, was born in Buffalo, New York in 1949, and has lived in Johnstown, PA; Mountainside, NJ; East Hanover, NJ; Slidell, LA; Medford, NJ; Duxbury, MA; and most recently in Wheaton, MD. Brother French graduated with a AAS Degree, from Union County College, Scotch Plains, NJ in 1976; with a BA Degree from Upsala College, East Orange, NJ in 1977; and with a MBA Degree from Wagner College, Staten Island, NY in 1980.
Brother French received military orders to Iraq in March 2006, where he served as a Navy Captain attached to the Army Civil Affairs, before being wounded in July 2007, and discharged in May 2008. Bruce retired from the Navy with over 29 years of Active and Reserve Service as a Medical Service Corps Officer, Medical Planner and Operations Officer and Patient Administrator, six of those years were with the US Marine Corps, and Selected as Executive Officer of the 4th Medical Battalion. He served in IRAQ as a Civil Affairs Officer trained by the ARMY and assigned with them with one of their Battalions. Brother French currently works for the US Internal Revenue Service.
In March 2006, Brother French was raised a Master Mason in Cornerstone Lodge, in Duxbury, MA., and is a active member in Hiram-Takoma Lodge No. 10, and Freedom Military Lodge No. 1775, both in the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia, F.A.A.M.. Brother French joined the Scottish Rite Valley of Washington in 2009, and served this Valley as the Chieftain of the Knights of St Andrews in 2012. Brother French was invested as a Knight Commander Court of Honor in 2013. He became a Noble in Almas Shrine in 2009, and is the Commander of the Almas Legion of Honor this year. Brother French is the 1st Vice President, Washington Chapter No. 3, Sojourners International, and the Heroes of 76 with Walter Reed Chapter No. 303. Bruce is also a member of the Royal Arch Masons, Mount Pleasant Chapter No. 13, Fiat Lux Council No. 9, and Washington Commandery No. 1 in Washington, DC.
Bruce is also a member of the Sons of the American Revolution in Washington, DC and Maryland, and a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and Disabled American Veterans in Wheaton, MD.
Brother French lives in Wheaton, MD with his wife Eva French, who is pursuing her PhD in Comparative Literature from Johns Hopkins University.
