Gilbert Stepanian

Brother Gilbert Stepanian, 32° KCCH was born in Tehran, Iran in 1954. His professional career started in 1977.  While attending engineering school at The University of Maryland he was hired by a pioneer startup photovoltaic solar company researching direct conversion of light to electricity for terrestrial use. After seventeen years and numerous positions spanning from R&D to head of engineering, to technology transfer and company buyouts, Brother Stepanian left the company as the Director of the consumer product division and started his own company supplying materials for solar manufacture and distribution of solar modules. These endeavors have provided him with the opportunity to travel to 42 countries in every continent except Antarctica. 

Brother Stepanian was initiated into Masonry in Hayastan Lodge No. 94 in 1999, where he is currently serving as Master. He also served as the Master of Mehr Lodge No. 90 in 2004. During the Masonic year 2007 he was appointed the Grand Pursuivant of the Grand Lodge of the District of Columbia.

Brother Stepanian is a founding member of the Grand Lodge of Armenia where he has served as the Grand Treasurer since 2004 and is the current elected Junior Grand Warden. 

He joined the Scottish Rite, Valley of Washington in 2000 and was made Knight Commander Court of Honour in 2007. In 2009 he became a member of the Royal Order of Scotland.
